Alonso informed on national television, “An event as large as the Book Fair, which is the largest cultural event that attracts so many people, especially at La Cabana Fortress, the leading venue of the Fair in this capital, has led us to postpone it”
The minister added that book production will continue, primarily in digital format, but also in print. “Some of the books that were going to be available for the fair, and others that were going to be available after it closes.”
The Cuban Book Institute (ICL) informed in an official statement that the Book Fair, scheduled for February 12-22, is postponed due to the genocidal blockade imposed by the United States Government against Cuba and its renewed escalation of aggression aimed at suffocating the Cuban people economically and attempting to destroy the Revolution.
The ICL indicated that the new date for this important cultural event will be announced in due course.
