Solidarity with Cuba from Zimbabwean doctor graduated from ELAM

Harare, February 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba is not alone in these complex times due to the US blockade of more than six decades, and we reaffirm our support for the Caribbean nation, assured Dr. Trust Mabaya, a young Zimbabwean graduate of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM).

In these difficult times for the island, we express our strongest support for its people subjected to the unjust economic blockade for years, Mabaya emphasized.

I have returned to my country, working as a doctor, helping my people, demonstrating that a better world is possible, giving back what Cuba has generously given me, the doctor reflected from the hospital in Bulawayo city.

With deep gratitude, commitment, and respect, I confirm that I am a doctor who graduated from ELAM in 2024, trained under solidarity, humanism, and the conviction that health is not a privilege, but a right.

Mabaya emphasized that throughout the years, Cuba has demonstrated a profoundly humanitarian and compassionate spirit, giving hope to nations through its medical brigades.

BAs we approach February 24th, he stated, we remember a date that marked a milestone in the resumption of the struggle for the Caribbean nation’s independence, a day that invites us to reflect on resistance, dignity, and self-determination.

In a video released here, the young doctor insisted on considering himself a son, a brother, and a friend of Cuba, one who votes for solidarity and bids farewell with “Until Victory, Always.”
