Russia is willing to engage in talks as a way to end the conflict

Moscow, Feb 24 (Prensa Latina) Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed today that his country is continuing its special military operation in Ukraine, but remains open to dialogue to achieve its objectives through political and diplomatic means.

“The special military operation continues. At the same time, Russia remains open to achieving its objectives through political and diplomatic means; work in this direction is also ongoing,” the Kremlin spokesman told the press, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the start of the armed confrontations.

In this regard, he indicated that Moscow continues its efforts for peace. “Our position is well known. It is consistent. Now everything depends on the actions of the Kyiv regime,” he emphasized.

Peskov stressed that the main objective of the military action is “to guarantee the safety of the population living in eastern Ukraine, who were, in fact, in mortal danger.”

He emphasized that the prerequisites for the operation have not yet been fully met, and therefore it continues.

Likewise, the head of the press service of the Presidency of the Eurasian giant noted that after the direct intervention of countries of the European Union and Washington, the maneuver automatically transformed into a broader confrontation between Russia and the West.
