Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning described the US accusations as unfounded and recalled that Beijing firmly supports the objectives of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.
Mao underscored that her country remains committed to the five nuclear-armed states’ pledge to suspend such tests.
The spokesperson noted that the United States is trying to evade its arms control responsibilities by leveling accusations against other nations, a strategy that undermines Washington’s international credibility.
China urged the United States to respect the moratorium on nuclear tests and uphold the global consensus against these practices.
Mao emphasized that Washington must abandon its pretexts for resuming nuclear testing.
