In a brief statement, without mentioning the attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran, the Indian Foreign Ministry called for boosting dialogue and diplomacy to reduce tensions and address underlying problems.
The sovereignty and territorial integrity of all States must be respected, New Delhi emphasized.
The diplomatic institution remembered that Indian missions in the region are in contact with their citizens, who were urged to remain vigilant, stay in touch with Indian representations, and follow local security guidelines.
Earlier, India’s left-wing forces took a stronger stance, condemning the attacks on Iran launched by the United States and Israel, which they considered a blatant violation of Iran’s sovereignty.
Communist and socialist-leaning parties in India pointed out, in separate statements, that the aggression against Iran is also contrary to the United Nations Charter and all international treaties.
They noted that the United States and Israel conducted these attacks, ignoring the ongoing negotiations with Iran.
