Solidarity actions with Cuba multiply in Argentina

Buenos Aires, March 1 (Prensa Latina) While the "Urgent Song for Cuba" concert is being organized in Rosario and the House of Friendship in Buenos Aires is raising funds, the Plaza del Fundador in Cordoba hosted an open radio broadcast against the blockade imposed by Washington.

Nearly 20 friends of the Cuban people in Cordoba participated in the open radio broadcast to expose the disastrous effects of the economic, commercial, and financial war waged by the U.S. government against the neighboring island, intensified by the oil embargo decreed by Donald Trump.

Several solidarity activists distributed a thousand flyers with addresses for donating medicine to Cuba and the alias for donating to purchase solar panels, while also speaking to the public to explain the nature of the hostility toward the island and its consequences.

This and other actions are part of the aid and support campaign launched by the Argentine Movement of Solidarity with Cuba.

Those gathered in Founder’s Plaza also shared songs by traditional troubadour Carlos Puebla and Silvio Rodriguez, one of the leading figures of the Cuban nueva trova movement, through loudspeakers, commentator and political leader Sergio Ortiz told Prensa Latina.

Irina Santiesteban, head of the Party for Liberation, denounced the U.S. policy with which Washington has punished Cuba for 65 years with the aim of overthrowing its revolutionary government.

Ortiz joined her at the microphone, and together they recounted the Cuban state’s solidarity programs with Argentina and the world, highlighting the graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), founded by the historic leader Fidel Castro.
