Both foreign ministers also emphasized the need to halt attacks on civilian targets, according to a statement released by this nation’s Foreign Ministry this Monday, following a telephone conversation between Lavrov and Bin Zayed.
The diplomatic institution stated, “The ministers expressed their deep concern about the situation surrounding Iran and called for immediate measures to reduce the scale of military actions.
Attention was given to the need to stop attacks that cause civilian casualties and damage civilian infrastructure in both the Persian Gulf states and Iran.”
The Foreign Ministry added that the two ministers also “consider it important to resume political and diplomatic efforts to reach agreements that guarantee reliable and long-term security in the region.”
