The PJS Freedoms Committee denounced the systematic attacks on press teams and journalists in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The organization stated that Israel prevented, on 52 occasions in February, Palestinian media outlets from covering events or detained their teams while they were carrying out their duties.
It also recorded 17 cases of arbitrary expulsion of journalists covering events in the courtyards and surrounding areas of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.
The PJS documented eight cases of gas and sound grenades being fired at journalists and six other incidents of shootings with military-grade weapons, which are a direct threat to the lives and safety of those individuals.
The Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip reported this week that the Israeli Army has killed 261 media workers in the territory since the beginning in October 2023 of the current wave of violence.
