The elite force stated that the attack was part of the 61st wave of Operation True Promise 4 and included the use of multiple warhead missiles, among them Khorramshahr-4 and Qadr-4, primarily targeting the Tel Aviv area.
The IRGC noted that the action was in response to the assassination of Larijani and his companions in an attack attributed to Israel, and it asserted that more than one hundred strategic targets were hit “without mishap.”
The report also noted power outages in some areas of Tel Aviv, while initial estimates from Tehran suggest that there are more than 230 dead and injured in the attack, though this was not immediately confirmed by Israeli authorities.
The Israeli ambulance service reported at least two deaths and several injuries following the attacks in the central part of the country.
Local media indicated that Iran used cluster missiles, which caused fires and material damage in the city of Ramat Gan, within the Tel Aviv metropolitan area.
