Lebanon denounces the largest Israeli aggression since March 2

Beirut, April 8 (Prensa Latina) The Lebanese Presidency condemned the Israeli attacks against various parts of the country, calling them a dangerous escalation that threatens regional stability.

According to Lebanese authorities, the bombings have left dozens dead and hundreds wounded, in what constitutes the largest offensive of its kind since March 2.

The escalation comes despite mediation efforts and reports suggesting Lebanon’s inclusion in the ceasefire announced between the United States and Iran.

However, the Israeli army stated that the country is not included in the agreement and continued its operations, while Hezbollah has maintained its adherence to the truce.

An official source, quoted by Lebanese media on condition of anonymity, pointed out that there is still no clear position on Beirut’s inclusion in the ceasefire, and that President Joseph Aoun is holding consultations to ensure its participation.

In a statement, the Lebanese Presidency denounced the attacks as violations of existing agreements and commitments, and accused Israel of ignoring international law.

It also stated that multiple violations have been recorded in recent months without any deterrent measures being taken.
