Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning affirmed that Lebanon’s sovereignty and security must not be violated.

Mao noted that the lives and property of the civilian population must be guaranteed and urged the parties involved to exercise prudence and restraint.

The spokesperson underscored the need to boost a de-escalation of the situation in the Middle East and expressed her hope that the opportunity for peace would be seized.

The diplomat stated that dialogue and consultation are the path to resolving differences.
