All Israeli settlements are illegal in the occupied Palestinian territory, according to several United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, the Presidency remembered in a statement.

It decried that this dangerous decision represents another step by Israel to implement its annexation plans, racist expansion, and the displacement of our compatriots.

It also accused the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to “set the region ablaze and drag it into an even greater spiral of violence and escalation.”

For his part, Palestinian National Council (PNC) Chairman Rawhi Fattouh stated that the project violates the provisions of the Geneva Conventions and the recommendations of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
