At the ceremony for the 2025 National Technological Innovation Awards and the Recognition for Innovation for Local Development, Martin emphasized that progress in this field is a way to optimize scarce resources, reduce external dependence, generate solutions based on knowledge, and create value without harming the environment.
“We make a respectful but firm appeal to scientists and engineers not to stop, because every small advance adds up in the face of adversity,” the professor emphasized at Hotel Cohiba.
He also called on managers and decision-makers to trust in talent focused on the production of goods and services for the benefit of all Cuban society.
He explained that these awards are designed to recognize the results of science, technology, and innovation that contribute to the development of new or improved products, goods and services, processes, and technologies with sustainable economic, social, or environmental impacts.
These results are reflected in the solution of problems and priorities at the national or territorial level, which can contribute to increased exports, effective import substitution, greater efficiency and productivity in businesses, and thus an improved quality of life for the population, argued the Academician of Merit of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
