This meeting is chaired by the foreign ministers of Venezuela, Yvan Gil, and Colombia, Rosa Villavicencio, along with other officials from several government ministries, aimed at strengthening the spirit of brotherhood and advancing cooperation initiatives.
The meeting started at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, where 11 working groups were established to address areas of cooperation in the cultural and educational fields, customs, security and defense, and trade.
Other issues, such as environmental and health, energy and hydrocarbons, industry and tourism, phytosanitary, civil protection, consular and migration, were also discussed.
Gil considered, on his Instagram account, that the meeting was a “valuable opportunity” for our governments, entrepreneurs, and communities to strengthen cooperation in several areas.
During the opening ceremony, the Venezuelan diplomat thanked Colombian President Gustavo Petro, on behalf of his government and acting President Delcy Rodriguez, for defending the union between the two countries.
