Gazan Ministry of Interior and the de National Security condemned the attacks against the civilian population and police officers while they were carrying out their duties.
The statement lamented the deaths yesterday of law enforcement officers following an Israeli incursion in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City in the north, and an attack on a police vehicle in the southern governorate of Khan Younis.
It noted that 31 members of the force have been killed there since the ceasefire came into effect.
Israel considers Palestinian police officers in the Strip legitimate targets, believing them to be part of the security apparatus of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), a claim the organization rejects.
In response, the Ministry stated that such actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law, which criminalizes attacks against police forces as an organ of public administration.
In a joint statement, Palestinian factions also condemned the incursions, considering them “an extension of the war of extermination with US support.”
