The number of wounded rose to 7,719, according to a report from the Health Ministry’s Emergency Operations Center. These figures show the cumulative impact of the attacks amid continued violations of the temporary ceasefire in effect since April 17.
The official update includes revised information, as well as the recovery of bodies of victims who died before the truce came into force, according to local sources and press reports.
The previous tally stood at 2,483 dead and 7,707 wounded, reflecting an increase after the consolidation of new reports. Despite the announcement of a 10-day ceasefire, which can be extended, Israel continues military actions that are causing casualties and material damage, while rescue teams continue searching for the missing, especially in the south of the country.
Meanwhile, a new round of talks is expected to take place in Washington, preceded by preliminary contacts between representatives of Lebanon and Israel, in an attempt to reach an agreement to end the conflict.
Israel maintains its occupation of areas in southern Lebanon, some for decades and others since the beginning of the current confrontation, as well as Palestinian territories and areas in Syria, in a context marked by persistent tensions in the region.
