Cuban Company Acosta Danza nominated for Global Schools Prize

Havana, May 5 (Prensa Latina) The Acosta Danza Academy and Company is one of 50 finalists for the Global Schools Prize, an international award recognizing educational institutions considered exceptional for their ability to redefine the boundaries of learning.

The award, promoted by the Varkey Foundation and based in the United Arab Emirates, is the largest initiative of its kind.

Acosta Danza’s nomination, in the Arts & Culture Award 2024 category, is a result of the academy’s commitment to artistic excellence and pedagogical innovation.

Ten schools will receive cash prizes, and one institution will be awarded the main prize, which will be announced at the World Education Forum in London this May, organizers reported on social media.

The National Council of Performing Arts of Cuba stated that this is a source of collective pride and an example of the institution’s commitment to building a sensitive, creative, and globally engaged educational space.

The Varkey Foundation’s initiative seeks to recognize schools in different parts of the world that are shaping the future of education and offering opportunities to every student, regardless of their background.
