In statements to a local television channel, the spokesman noted that the current situation is causing concern for the Iranian people, the region, and the international community, reinforcing the need to move toward a solution that ends the hostilities.
Baghaei warned that the US military presence in the region is a factor of insecurity and a risk for the countries hosting US bases.
He also emphasized that Tehran’s relations with the Arab Gulf nations are based on mutual respect and shared interests, and reiterated that Iran does not maintain hostile positions toward these countries.
The spokesperson added that, in light of past experience, his country is not prepared to prolong complex discussions without clear prospects for a solution.
The statements come amid tensions stemming from the conflict that began in late February, which has left thousands of victims and impacted regional stability, amid military exchanges and attacks on facilities and interests in several countries.
