The Culture Ministry (MINCULT) sent greetings to the “guardians of affection and everyday architects of life,” highlighting their silent dedication and the infinite strength they provide and inspire.
The institution expressed on social media, “Happy Mother’s Day from the Culture Ministry of Cuba.”
The National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists (UNEAC) shared a text by poetess Dulce Maria Loynaz, winner of the 1987 National Literature Prize and the 1992 Cervantes Prize, in which she reflects on truth and maternal tenderness.
Loynaz wrote, “My mother could offer me nothing more beautiful than herself… her truth was so wonderful, I would not have believed it.”
The publication was accompanied by the work “Llena Eres de Gracia,” by artist Jaqueline Brito, exhibited at UNEAC’s Villa Manuela gallery, as part of the “Hilar Fino” collective exhibition.
The Cuban Book Institute (ICL) congratulated all mothers connected to the book industry for their role in cultural development and in transmitting values to new generations.
