China and Russia use yuan or rubles in most transactions

Beijing, May 20 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that all Russia-China trade transactions are practically conducted in yuan or rubles, without resorting to the US dollar.

Putin specified in a joint press briefing with his counterpart, Xi Jinping, that the volume of bilateral trade exceeded 200 billion dollars last year, and both nations have built a trade line immune to the influences of the external financial market.

The Russian president described the comprehensive strategic partnership between Moscow and Beijing as a model of interstate relations in the contemporary world, based on equality, mutual support, and genuine good-neighborly relations.

Putin underscored that Russia is one of the leading suppliers of oil, natural gas, liquefied gas, and coal to the Chinese market, and reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining a stable supply of fuels.

The Russian leader highlighted the progress made by the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom in the construction of the Tianwan and Xudapu nuclear power plants, whose Russian-designed reactors are nearing completion.

Putin noted that Russia and China coordinate their positions in multilateral organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the BRICS group, the Group of 20 (G20), and the World Trade Organization (WTO), and reaffirmed their mutual support for independent foreign policies.
