Laos: Cuban ambassador emphasizes validity of Revolution

Vientiane, May 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Ambassador to this nation, Enna Viant, affirmed that the validity of the Cuban Revolution is evident in every act of resistance, every act of justice, and every gesture of solidarity, grounded in Marti's ideal of "Homeland is Humanity."

“Today we proclaim that the Cuban Revolution supports the ideas of Marti and Fidel, and is socialist,” Viant emphasized at the opening ceremony of a Jose Marti Memorial at the diplomatic mission headquarters, on the 131st anniversary of his death in combat and in the year marking the 100th birthday of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.

Marti, the diplomat explained, taught us that the homeland should be free and sovereign; he was the architect of independence, he taught us to dream, and his thought is the seed of our national identity and the moral foundation of the Revolution that triumphed 67 years ago, on January 1, 1959.

Fidel transformed Marti’s dreams into tangible realities; he was the builder of the Revolution, the strategist, and the one who taught us to resist, the ambassador added, and underscored that “his example calls upon us to keep the Revolution alive.”

Viant also referred to the complex situation the island is currently experiencing due to the tightening of the energy blockade, the coercive measures, and the executive orders adopted by US President Donald Trump, and his threats of military aggression.
