This event is part of the agenda leading up to the next Ibero-American Summit, which will be held in Madrid in November.
The first meeting of this kind took place in 2003 at the beginning of the regional agreement that brought together the Latin American and Caribbean countries, Spain, and Portugal.
The Spanish pro tempore Secretariat convened the meeting to continue the work begun in the Dominican Republic in 2023 and propose new ways for collaboration and joint work.
The role of Diplomatic Academies in building and projecting the Ibero-American Community, the professionalization of the diplomatic career and function, the methodology and practical experiences in the scientific and cultural spheres of these fields, and the potential of teaching Spanish and Portuguese languages are issues to be addressed.
