“Dear Comrade Raul, dear friend, please accept my sincerest congratulations on your 95th birthday,” the congratulatory message released by Medvedev’s office reads.
The high-ranking Russian official emphasized that, for millions of people, Castro “has become a shining symbol of unwavering patriotism, internationalism, unprecedented courage, and the constant eradication of neocolonial practices in order to build a more just multipolar world order.”
Medvedev highlighted Raul Castro’s role in strengthening cooperation between Moscow and Havana, which laid the foundation for an unshakeable basis upon which friendly ties between the two countries are built.
The former Russian president affirmed that Russia will continue to condemn attempts to intimidate Cuba and interfere in its internal affairs.
“Faced with the enormous pressure that the Island of Freedom is experiencing, we will continue to strongly condemn all attempts at intimidation and interference in the internal affairs of the sovereign state of Cuba. Together, we are an invincible force,” Medvedev asserted.
