The titles blend fantasy, oral tradition, and theatrical productions, aimed at children and young adults, the publisher confirmed on social media.
This year, the cultural event will have Russia as the guest of honor and will be dedicated to the storyteller Marilyn Bobes and the essayist Jose Bell Lara.
Among the releases planned by Abril Publishing House are Cuentos con sal (Tales with Salt) by Isachi Fernandez, a volume that intertwines stories and fables, along with El sapito que no queria ser feo (The Little Toad that didn’t want to be ugly) by Freddy Sanchez, which includes instructions for making puppets and acting out the adventures it describes.
The publishing house also added *Historias de Cacarajicara* (Stories of Cacarajicara), by writer Reinaldo Alvarez, where the stories revolve around a trip to the town that, according to popular belief, is the birthplace of tongue twisters.
Completing the collection is *Indigo y el duende del zapato* (Indigo and the Shoe Goblin), by Adriana Pino, an illustrated book that Casa Abril describes as literary magic for children and adults, full of tenderness, wonder, and positive awakenings.
The Russian ambassador to Cuba, Victor Koronelli, confirmed that the books that the delegation will be providing free of charge have already arrived on the Caribbean island.
