The Syrian General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport (GACA) announced the temporary closure of air corridors in southern Syria for a period of 12 hours.
The measure includes the suspension of operations at Damascus International Airport. It is in response to technical assessments conducted by the Risk Management Committee in light of the evolving regional situation.
The agency specified that the decision is preventative and was adopted in coordination with the relevant authorities to guarantee the safety of air navigation and flight operations, in accordance with international standards.
Royal Jordanian Airlines announced the cancellation of its flights to Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq due to operational restrictions stemming from the security situation in the region.
