Minh Hung traveled at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to participate in the Summit commemorating the 35th anniversary of relations between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Russia.
Putin reaffirmed in that meeting that Vietnam is one of Russia’s most important partners and a close friend in the region, and praised the fundamental role it plays in connecting Russia with ASEAN countries and boosting cooperation initiatives in the region.
The Vietnamese government’s online newspaper informed that the Russian head of State highly assessed the substantial results of cooperation achieved recently, and underscored in particular the increasingly solid and highly credible political relationship, which provides a firm foundation for further expanding bilateral collaboration.
Minh Hung, in turn, affirmed that the new Vietnamese Executive wishes to continue working with its Russian counterpart to implement the agreements reached between Communist Party of Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam, and Putin, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas.
