“To stand with Cuba is to stand with humanity,” said the leader at the event commemorating the 114th anniversary of the PCCh, where he denounced the fierce and inhumane aggression the island is suffering at the hands of the United States and said it deserves all solidarity.

Carmona stated that “They intend to kill a sovereign, revolutionary, and humanist project by subjecting its entire people to famine in order to justify criminal military actions.”

The top leader of the PCCh described the United States’ accusation against the leader of the Revolution, Raul Castro, as a provocation. He said Castro is a driving force behind major and profound peace processes and the declaration of Latin America as a Zone of Peace.

In statements to Prensa Latina, Lautaro remembered the historic friendship between the Communist Party of Chile (PCCh) and the Communist Party of Cuba and affirmed the Caribbean nation’s right to build its own future.

Interviewed by this agency, Luis Cuello, a congressman from the Valparaiso region, remembered that the PCCh was born from the workers’ struggles and has made a very significant contribution to Chilean history, to the building of the popular movement, to progressive governments, and also to the defense of human rights.
