“Sincerely, without sparing any sacrifice, so that his dreams of a free nation and a happy people may become a reality. That is the expression of Carlos Fonseca, that is the task accomplished,” Porras stated during a special session on the national hero’s 90th birthday.
The event took place in Boca de Piedra, Matagalpa Department, the site where the founder of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) laid down his life, and brought together lawmakers, local authorities, young people, and residents of nearby communities.
The Parliament president stressed that the revolutionary leader’s thinking continues to light up the path of the transformations underway in Nicaragua and underscored the progress made in restoring rights and empowering the people.
Porras affirmed that the guidelines of Co-Presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo maintain a connection with the legacy of national heroes and, particularly, with the thinking of Carlos Fonseca.
