Italy closes National gathering of solidarity with Cuba

Rome, Jun 29 (Prensa Latina) The National Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC) concluded an event in Tuscany addressing the situation on the island in the face of the intensified blockade and threats of war from the United States, according to a statement.

A note published by ANAIC points out that in the final day of the solidarity group’s 5th National Festival, the book *Marco Rubio: An Uncontrollable Mythomaniac* was presented, which details the unsavory background of the anti-Cuban politician.

The discussion regarding the text was led by ANAIC Vice President Enzo Pescatori. Various speakers addressed the actions taken against the Caribbean nation by Rubio—the current U.S. Secretary of State and a driving force behind genocidal measures that violate the human rights of the Cuban people. Other activities included the launch of the book *No One Can Stop the Revolution* and a discussion on “Music as a Vehicle for Culture and Rebellion.”

Also featured were the presentation of the book *The Life of Gino Done Paro*—about the Italian partisan who was the only European participant in the *Granma* expedition—and a debate on “Education as Popular Emancipation.”

Highlights included the opening of a photographic exhibition dedicated to the “Heroic Guerrilla,” Commander Ernesto Che Guevara; the presentation of the book *Notes on the Transition to Socialism*; and a lecture titled “The End of the Unipolar World: Between the Logic of War, the Blockade, Genocide, Tariffs, and the Role of Cuban Resistance.”

This significant political and cultural event concluded on Sunday night with a concert by Assalti Frontali, following three days dedicated to addressing “the role of Cuban resistance, the blockade, genocide, and the emancipation of peoples,” the ANAIC statement noted.
