The statement described the recent reports from the US Department of State as “false” and “imperialist moves” to create conditions for a possible aggression against the Caribbean nation.
The Community denounced the latest initiative by the US administration and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, accusing them of using a “spurious” report to attack Cuba.
It affirmed that Washington’s policy toward Havana is marked by a double standard and remembered that the island has been, since 1959, a victim of systematic aggression, including more than six decades of economic blockade, currently tightened through an energy siege.
The organization assured that the Cuban people would defend their sovereignty and affirmed that any military adventure against the island would have a high cost for its promoters.
