The program, called “Economic Empowerment for Families Affected by War”, is implemented in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, other government institutions, and civil society organizations.
The initiative, part of the “Syria Without Camps” vision, includes financing of micro and small enterprises, training and capacity-building programs, and the preparation of feasibility studies to boost economic recovery and sustainable development.
The Development Authority’s director, Ihab Zakour, stated that the initial financing amounts to five million dollars and could be expanded to reach 10 million dollars.
The first stage will be implemented as a pilot project, in cooperation with several ministries, civil society organizations, and Al Baraka Bank, before being extended to a larger number of families in different governorates.
