Israeli army continues demolitions and explosions in southern Lebanon

Beirut, Jul 30 (Prensa Latina) The Israeli army continued its demolition, explosion, and earth-moving operations in various areas of southern Lebanon, despite the Framework Agreement signed between Beirut and Tel Aviv, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported.

According to the source, Israeli forces detonated and demolished the remains of homes in villages in the country’s western sector—particularly in the Al-Mashaa area of Al-Mansouri (Tyre district) and other areas subjected to attacks.

The NNA added that Ali al-Taher Hill, on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, was subjected to intermittent artillery shelling.

In Bint Jbeil district, Israeli military vehicles advanced to the outskirts of Aita al-Jabal before withdrawing toward Haddatha.

Additionally, Israeli forces set fire to homes in Qantara (Marjeyoun district) and carried out demolition work in the vicinity of Kfarshouba (Hasbaya).

These actions are taking place despite the Framework Agreement signed on June 26 under U.S. auspices, which envisions Israel’s gradual withdrawal from all occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the local army and the disarmament of armed groups.

On July 21, the Lebanese army began deploying in Zawtar al-Gharbiya—one of the pilot zones included in the agreement’s first implementation phase—following the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

Israel continues to occupy sectors of southern Lebanon; some occupations date back decades, while others stem from the 2023–2024 war.

During recent operations, its forces penetrated more than 10 kilometers into Lebanese territory. Since March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in 4,333 deaths and 12,236 injuries, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
