The commemoration on his 100th birthday is a special occasion to remember his leadership, Dao Luong said during the opening ceremony of the program of activities “President Ho Chi Minh and Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro: A Special Friendship.”

The exhibition, featuring 100 photos that summarize the work of both leaders, as well as the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba, will remain open until August 14 at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site at the Presidential Palace.

The Vietnamese deputy minister noted that the Memorial Site… with the safekeeping of Uncle Ho’s documents from the last 15 years of his life, contributes to cultural diplomacy, which serves to bring the nations and peoples of the world closer together.

Cuban Ambassador in Hanoi, Rogelio Polanco, said commemorating Fidel Castro’s 100th birthday shows the respect cherished by generations of Vietnamese for the Cuban revolutionary.
