Madanizadeh told Iranian state television that the authorities have developed an economic plan for the next two years that considers several scenarios, including the current tightening of US measures.
The economy minister asserted, “The Government has been long planning how to counter the US sanctions and is fully prepared for the new sanctions.”
The official noted that Tehran has been working for months on mechanisms aimed at reducing the impact of the restrictions and stated that Iran’s adversaries have repeatedly tried to test the country’s resistance.
The statements come after the US Department of the Treasury launched the Operation Economic Outcast on Monday, a campaign aimed, according to Washington, at deepening Iran’s financial isolation.
