The event’s president, Adrian Manzotti, and its general director, Gonzalo A. Paez, visited the Cuban stand to present the award to Jose Antonio Aguilera, the Tourism Counselor for the Southern Cone. The presentation took place on the third day of FIT—dedicated to industry professionals—following two intense days of general public attendance.
The exhibition center La Rural in Buenos Aires hosts over 350 exhibitor stands representing 60 countries, as well as Argentine provinces, hotel chains, airlines, and agencies providing various tourism-sector services.
Speaking to Prensa Latina, Aguilera noted that “this gesture by the Fair’s leadership recognizes Cuba’s continuous presence across all 30 editions of FIT Latin America in Argentina—an effort dedicated to promoting the island’s destinations and tourism products to Argentine.”
He added that it also shows the level of acceptance Cuba enjoys among Argentines; the country served as the Guest of Honor in 2022. “We have always been here, showcasing the virtues and attractions of our beautiful island, and for 30 years at this important event, we have worked on updating offerings and securing contracts for the destination.”
An estimated 43,105 tourism professionals are participating, and organizers registered a total of 141,296 visitors. Its president, Adrián Manzotti, expressed to Aguilera his wish for Cuba to continue participating in future events, to which the Tourism Counselor responded with a firm affirmative.
