In a statement signed by its national spokesperson, Fernando Hernandez, the leftist organization noted that the Argentine-Cuban guerrilla fighter remains a reference point for revolutionary movements promoting economic, political, and social transformations to address structural inequalities.
The MPD highlighted that Guevara’s revolutionary vision advocated for transforming the economic structures and social relations that, in his view, perpetuate exploitation and the concentration of wealth.
According to the organization, a fundamental component of his thought was the conviction that processes of emancipation must address the needs of the majority rather than being limited to changes in the State’s political leadership.
It also underscored internationalism as a central principle in the life of the fighter and physician; his participation in the Cuban Revolution and subsequent involvement in guerrilla movements outside the island were linked to his concept of a revolutionary struggle that transcended national borders.
The MPD maintained that the continued relevance of Guevarist thought should be approached through a historical and political analysis that connects past revolutionary experiences with the economic and social contradictions of the present.
For the organization, remembering the revolutionary leader entails examining the causes of inequality, studying the specific characteristics of each society, and understanding the relationship between ideological formulations and political practice.
