In a statement addressed to the national and international community, the solidarity group denounced that the presidential couple remains “unjustly deprived of their freedom in a prison of the North American empire.”
It stated that this crude political move, carried out by those who arrogate to themselves the right to attack sovereign peoples and impose the law of the strongest, constitutes a flagrant violation of Public International Law and the Charter of the United Nations.
“We demand the immediate release of our compatriots and the cessation of all unilateral coercive measures, sanctions, and blockades, as a systematic aggression against the Bolivarian Republic,” it emphasized.
The statement noted that, on this same date, they also “extend fraternal and combative greetings” to Army General Raul Castro, who is celebrating his 95th birthday, having dedicated his life entirely to the Cuban Revolution.
It emphasized that his example of dignity, loyalty, and resistance is a beacon for the peoples of the world who struggle for their emancipation.
On this anniversary of the Cuban historical leader, the solidarity movement denounced “the illegal and spurious trial” that is being imposed against someone who has been a moral and heroic pillar of his people.
Hu “Faced with the clumsy maneuvers of the empire, we reaffirm, with the immortal words of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro: #RaúlIsRaúl,” it stressed.
Finally, it exclaimed that “neither kidnappings nor sham trials will break the will of free peoples!” and wished “long life to Army General Raul Castro!”
