Cuban academician participates in World Public Summit: Africa

Addis Ababa, Jul 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban academician and university professor PhD. Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov will participate in the World Public Summit: Africa—the first of its kind held on African soil—aimed at fostering cooperation and innovation.

The two-day gathering, scheduled to take place at the headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, brings together representatives from 54 African countries and international partners under the theme “A New World: Africa Shaping a Shared Future.”

Castro Smirnov will attend the plenary session and other discussion forums covering topics such as sustainable infrastructure, food and information systems, scientific cooperation, education, youth participation, public diplomacy, and the preservation of African cultural heritage.

Organized by the World Public Assembly in collaboration with African and international organizations, the major event features over 700 participants, including government officials, diplomats, business leaders, academics, journalists, and tech innovators, among others.

The outcomes are expected to contribute to the discussions of the Second World Public Assembly, scheduled for this coming September in Moscow, Russia.

Thanks to its broad participation and focus on Africa’s role in shaping a shared global future, the World Public Summit will place Ethiopia at the center of a significant international dialogue regarding cooperation, innovation, diplomacy, and the continent’s future.
