26 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in Cuba and total reaches 1,729
Havana, May 7 (Prensa Latina) The Ministry of Public Health of Cuba reported today the existence of 26 new confirmed cases with Covid-19 in this country for a total of one thousand 729, while there are 73 deaths.
Francisco Durán, director of Epidemiology of that entity, regretted the deaths of four people on the last day.
Of the last affected, all are Cuban, said the doctor at the usual press conference to update on the impact of the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus in the country.
According to Durán, of the new positives to the disease (14 women and 12 men), 23 were contacts of previously confirmed cases, the source of infection is not specified for three, and 16 were asymptomatic.
Yesterday, Durán explained, 2,370 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical-epidemiological surveillance, and another 6,336 people were monitored at home from Primary Health Care.
Also, the previous day, a thousand 965 cases were studied to determine Covid-19, caused by SARS Cov-2, and 61 thousand 613 samples were accumulated made for this purpose.
On the other hand, Durán pointed out that of the patients diagnosed with the disease, 615 present stable clinical evolutions, there are 1,311 medical discharges, two evacuated to their countries of origin, five in critical condition and three serious.
