Egyptian president calls for unity to fight Covid-19
28 de mayo de 2020, 13:22Cairo, May 28 (Prensa Latina) President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called on Thursday for union and solidarity among the Egyptians to fight the novel SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, at a time when the country has recorded more than 19,000 cases and 816 deaths.
The Egyptian government suspended international flights, except for repatriations, as well as classes at all educational levels.
In addition, museums, archaeological sites, churches, mosques, gyms, sports clubs, cafes and other recreational places remain closed.
Since the beginning of Eid al Fitr on Sunday, a feast with which Muslims end the sacred month of Ramadan, the executive has reinforced precautions in order to avoid contagions, thus night curfew was extended, public transportation was suspended and travels between governorates and access to commom beaches and gardens were banned.
Enemies of the homeland are trying to question the State's efforts to fight this epidemic, continue executing development plans and maintain economic stability in the most complex circumstances, the president posted on social media.
