Syrian president tours military positions near Damascus
Damascus, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad visited positions of the Syrian Arab Army in the surroundings of the mountainous city of Bloudan, located 45 kilometers northwest of the capital.
The visit, which was not unannounced by the Syrian presidency and was not broadcasted by official media, was made known to the public through photographs posted by Syrian soldiers on their social media accounts.
The President was accompanied by his wife Asmaa al-Assad, who recently recovered from breast cancer.
For security reasons, the president makes unannounced tours to military positions and public places, and the latter was the first appearance of the ruler after the outbreak of coronavirus.
