Cuba: 94.3 percent of patients have recovered from Covid-19
Havana, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) Cuba reported 2,224 recovered patients from Covid-19, accounting for 94.3% of 2,361 cases infected with the new coronavirus so far, Dr. Francisco Duran, director of Epidemiology at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), said on Friday.
During his regular morning press briefing to update the Covid-19 statistics, the MINSAP expert informed that three patients had been discharged from hospital over the last 24 hours.
Of the total number of cases infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in Cuba, 49 active cases remain at hospitals, 48 of whom are evolving well and one is in a serious condition.
No patient has died over the last 24 hours, so the number of deaths remains at 86.
On Thursday, 2,690 diagnostic tests were performed nationwide, totaling 178,062 samples so far.
In addition, 142 people are under epidemiological surveillance at hospitals, and 131 are being monitored at home.
Of the total number of patients, 1,169 are women and 1,192 are men, the expert explained. Besides, 2,049 were contacts of confirmed or suspected cases, accounting for 88.3%, while 1,283 Covid-19 patients were asymptomatic at the time of the diagnosis.
