Cuba: no deceased from Covid-19 for 15 days
Havana, Jul 27 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported that no patients have died due to Covid-19 for 15 days, and thus the death toll remains at 87 for a 3.43% death rate.
In his daily press conference on the course of the pandemic in the country, the national director of Epidemiology, Francisco Duran, stressed that this is somewhat favorable and is proof of the efforts made by the country in confronting the SARS-CoV-2 virus since March.
Duran noted that in addition to not reporting deaths in the last hours from the disease, there are no serious patients, nor critical ones in intensive care.
The specialist reported in the last report that 37 people were diagnosed with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and now the total number of confirmed cases amounts to 2,532.
Those 37 new cases, all of which are Cuban, were detected after 3,312 tests were carried out.
Of them, 20 men and 17 women, 29 turned out to be asymptomatic at the time the test was performed, said the specialist.
He regretted that the number of medical discharges, only two, was well below the number of admissions. Duran reported that 92 people are sick with Covid-19 in the country and called for extreme measures to avoid the emergence of new events of transmission of the disease.
