Vietnam contains new outbreak of Covid-19 cases and deaths
Hanoi, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam concluded this Tuesday its thirteenth day without autochthonous infections of Covid-19 and the twelfth day without deaths from that cause, while the number of recovered patients increased by five.
As confirmed by the commission in charge of containing the pandemic, to date the number of patients since the emergence of SARS-CoV-2 almost eight months ago has risen to 1,063, for an infection rate of 11 per million inhabitants.
The death toll was contained at 35, thus the fatality rate has remained at 0.4 per million inhabitants.
Of the total number of patients, 931 have recovered, 87 percent. The proportion could grow in the next few days because 18 tested negative to three SARS-CoV-2 tests and another 28 successfully showed negative to one or two.
Meanwhile, more than 32,500 people are under quarantine or under medical supervision in specialized centers or at home, almost all repatriated from other countries.
The basic statistics of the disease corroborate that the outbreak of July 25th in the central city of Da Nang and its ramifications to other territories are under control.
The country is entering gradually a phase of 'new normality' that passes through the progressive relaxation of confinement measures in the affected cities and provinces and the revival of economic and social activities.
