Russia's FM announces Lavrov's meeting with Cuban delegation
Moscow, Sep 23 (Prensa Latina) Russia's Foreign Ministry announces on Wednesday a meeting next Monday between the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov and Cuba's Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas to examine the deepening of ties and issues on the global agenda.
During the aforementioned encounter, the strengthening of the strategic partnership between both countries in the political, economic-commercial and cultural-humanitarian areas will be analyzed, highlighted the spokesperson of the aforementioned Russian agency, Maria Zajarova.
In addition, the meeting will take into account the results of the encounter of co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission between both nations and crucial issues on the regional and global agenda, she pointed out.
Similarly, the coordination of efforts in the international arena will be addressed, including 'the fight against illegitimate pressure through US sanctions against the Island of Liberty - Cuba,' Zajarova noted.
Cabrisas, who chairs a delegation from Cuba here, spoke yesterday with the president of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Guennadi Zyuganov, and with Ivan Melnikov, first vice president of the Duma State (Russian lower house).
