Bolivia endorses use of vaccines Sputnik V and Sinovac

In statements to Bolivia TV, Castro explained that in the evaluation it was taken into account the characteristics of several vaccines besides the Russian and the Chinese ones, and they were finally selected because they were better adapted to the context of Bolivia.
The Sputnik V vaccine has proven to be one of the best drugs to immunize against Covid-19; however, its acquisition by the Bolivian State was the target of a campaign aimed at stopping the management by alleging irregularities.
The drug will enter Bolivia in the initial batch during the first quarter of 2021 after passing different biological tests with an efficacy of over 90 percent against Covid-19.
Bolivia is managing the acquisition of 5.2 million doses of Sputnik V and other lots of the drug under the Covax system, a global access fund for vaccines against Covid-19.
