New Delhi, Feb 22 (Prensa Latina) India reported 14,199 new cases of Covid-19, thus exceeding 11 million inhabitants affected by the pandemic, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported. According to the health authorities, India accumulates 11,005,850 people infected by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus since the end of January last year.
The death toll rose to 156,385, after the death of another 83 patients.
On the other hand, recoveries of patients in the country amounted to 10,699,410.
India has a record of more than 211.5 million samples tested in its laboratories for the presence of the virus.
According to experts, the progressive expansion of the country's testing infrastructure has played a crucial role in increasing the number of tests.
A total of 11,116,854 people have been vaccinated to date. The second dose of the vaccine began to be applied on February 13th for those who had received their first dose 28 days earlier.
