Pope Francis condemns kidnappings of students in Nigeria
Vatican City, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) Pope Francis on Sunday condemned the kidnappings of 317 female students from a public high school in Jangebe, in the northwestern state of Zamfara, in Nigeria.
I join my voice to that of the bishops of Nigeria to condemn the cowardly kidnappings of 317 girls, taken from their school in Jangebe, in the northwest of the country, the Holy Pontiff said at the end of Sunday's Angelus prayers.
I pray for these girls so that they can return home soon, pointed out Pope Francis, who expressed his closeness to 'their families and with them'.
The Nigerian adolescents were kidnapped on Friday at dawn by armed men who attacked the Government Girls Junior Secondary School.
