Earthquakle shakes Cuban province
Havana, Apr 8 (Prensa Latina) A 3.8-magnitude earthquake in Richter's open scale shook the central province of Ciego de Avila, the Station Network of the Cuban National Seismological Service (SSN) reported on Thursday.
The earth tremor occurred at 03:43 hours, local time, on Thursday, at 21.52 degrees north latitude and -78.72 degrees west longitude, at a depth of 1.5 kilometers, SSN Deputy Director Enrique Diego Arango posted on Facebook.
So far, no casualties or material damage has been reported, he wrote.
This is the third perceptible earthquake of the year and it was located 34 kilometers south of Ciego de Avila, the capital city of the province of the same name.
In addition, the earthquake was also perceptible in the towns of Venezuela, Baragua, Gaspar and Majagua, in Ciego de Avila, and Florida municipality, in Camagüey province.
