Authorities informed Ariana news agency that the incident occurred in the Karte Sakhi area of Kabul when armed men opened fire on the vehicle, killing the driver and wounding a security guard.

The attack was followed by a shootout between the police and the attackers in which two people were wounded, including one of the gunmen.

The incident comes after gunmen assassinated a military doctor in the Afghan capital on Friday night.

The attackers managed to escape.

According to the sources this type of targeted assassination is widely used by Taliban groups.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the event.
